Inverter Technology for Precision Heating: At the heart of the InverElite V3 lies
So you have built your self a new pool, or maybe bought a new home and inherited a beautiful swimming pool. But you haven’t got the first idea on how to look after your pool. Below is a lesson in Pool Maintenance 101.
Regular water testing is key. Like most things, prevention is always the best cure. Most professional pool shops will offer free water testing and advice. Checking for things like your pH levels, Salt, Chlorine etc. Then giving you the correct advice and chemicals, based on your pool information and equipment. When you check water chemistry regularly you will find that water stays clearer and that you are only making small adjustments.
How often you will need to clean your skimmer & pump baskets will vary depending on how much debris is landing in your pool. A good habit would be to check them at least once a week. Not doing so will negatively affect the performance of your pump, suction pool cleaner and filtration.
This should be done at least once a month and the process will vary depending on what type of filtration system you have. Most likely you will have either a sand filter or a cartridge filter. For more information check out our earlier blog Time To Clean Your Sand Filter / Cartridge Filter
Regular scooping and brushing off the pool is a great tool to help prevent discolouration of interior and algae growths from growing. Scooping or skimming debris of the surface, before it hits the bottom will also protect your pool pump and filter getting clogged, while also making the job easier for you pool cleaner.
There is a few ways this task can be done:
Maintaining the correct water level in your pool is very important as the system doesn’t operate correctly when it gets too low. Your water level will drop over time, especially over the summer months due to evaporation and swimming activities (Bomb Dives). If you want to minimise the water evaporation, you can always invest in a pool cover.
Following these simple tasks will make looking after your pool a dream, and have that pool “sparkling” all year round. Regular pool maintenance will keep costs down (YAY) and prolong the life of your pool equipment.
